I’ve been reading a lot about healthier carb alternatives, and I got super interested in chia seeds and quinoa. I made quinoa for the first time today, and the pack suggested mixing them with cranberries, so why not!

Today I have the quinoa and cranberries, and a smaller mix of yesterdays salad with tomatoes and cucumbers again. Top it off with a lovely cup o’ hot jasmine green tea, great for a rainy day like today!

Why quinoa? It’s high in fiber and protein, meaning you stay fuller longer. It has a low glycemic index, meaning you won’t get any sugar crashes either. It has a whole load of vitamins as well! Find out more about why quinoa is so good here: http://m.huffpost.com/ca/entry/3363619/

Sometime in the next week I’ll be picking up chia seeds! Can’t wait

Is it time to eat yet? :D

Good afternoon! :D Whats for lunch? Pesto-basil sausage from Trader Joes, diced tomatoes, string beans, roasted bell peppers (with eggplant hummus and parmesan cheese), and to top it off, a carrot-apple-parsnip juice mixed with green tea!

I think my favourite item on the menu is the juice, its a great energy boost for your morning/early afternoon. It’s my first time juicing parsnips and so far I love it. They’re like carrots, they’re sweet, but with a kick to it, and best of all, parsnips are great for brittle nails! I have a feeling I’ll be adding them to lots of juices from now on!
